A Brazilian butt lift (BBL) is a very common surgical procedure, which involves fat transfer. The fat is taken from areas of your body that may have an excess of it, usually areas like the abdomen, thighs, arms, back or flanks (love handles) via tumescent liposuction. The fat is then re-injected back into your bottom to make it more plump. Additional liposuction can also be done to approve the contour of the buttocks as well.
Post-Operative Recovery Instructions:
- Ensure getting bed rest and ensure drinking a lot of water during the first week.
- Do not directly sit on your butt for three weeks (this includes driving).
- Taking two weeks off of work is necessary. If working on a desk job, it is highly encouraged to get a boppy pillow for the chair or a specialty chair when returned to work.
- Consider getting a lymphatic drainage massage every six weeks. This will decrease swelling and bruising.
How long should the compression garment be worn for?
Part of the post-operative recovery instructions include wearing the compression garment. It is important to wear this as it controls swelling. It should be worn 24 hours a day for the first three weeks.
